Names Announced for André the Giant Battle Royal, Relive 1st One

It was announced a couple of weeks ago that the André the Giant Memorial Battle Royal will be returning to WrestleMania this year. This will be the sixth edition of the battle royal, which has become a staple of the event ever since it debuted at WrestleMania XXX. It will be interesting to see who walks out of this one as the winnner. Prior to this week, Braun Strowman was the only confirmed participant in the match. It was announced on Raw that there will be a celebrity presence in the match this year as Saturday Night Live cast members Colin Jost and Michael Che will be partaking in the match. Jost, Che, and Strowman have had issues on Raw for a number of weeks, so the payoff to their feud will be delivered at WrestleMania 35.

Earlier today, WWE confirmed over twenty more names who will be taking part in the battle royal during this year’s event. One of these men will have their name added to the trophy of the WWE legend. Of course, it’s possible that WWE could still add or remove names between now and WrestleMania 35, but for now, the André the Giant Memorial Battle Royal entrants consist of the following stars:

– Braun Strowman
– Colin Jost
– Michael Che
– Andrade

– Matt Hardy
– Jeff Hardy
– Apollo Crews

– Ali

– Titus O’Neil
– Tyler Breeze
– Jinder Mahal
– Bobby Roode
– No Way Jose
– Chad Gable
– Bo Dallas
– Curtis Axel
– Rhyno
– Heath Slater
– Lince Dorado
– Gran Metalik
– Kalisto
– Konnor
– Viktor

As noted, this will be the sixth edition of the André the Giant Memorial Battle Royal. The first one took place at WrestleMania XXX in 2014, and fans can now rewatch the battle royal that started it all. Before Big Show, Baron Corbin, Mojo Rawley, and Matt Hardy won the match, Cesaro became the first man to overcome to odds. Cesaro won the match by picking up The Big Show and slamming him over the top rope, which was a fitting tribute for the moment when Hulk Hogan slammed down André the Giant in their iconic match at WrestleMania III. For those interested in checking out the match, WWE has uploaded it in its entirety on their official YouTube account. Check out the match in the tweet posted down below:
